Adrian Butchart

Adrian Butchart is a British screenwriter and film producer.

Having started in British television, Butchart moved into the feature world in the United States, writing the highly acclaimed indie arthouse film I Love Your Work with actor and director Adam Goldberg. The film, an indictment on celebrity culture was not a commercial success but became part of film school curriculum, with a cast including Giovanni Ribisi, Christina Ricci, Joshua Jackson, Jason Lee, Vince Vaughn and Elvis Costello.

Butchart also wrote the popular Goal! movies with producer Mike Jefferies.

The first installment, Goal! The Dream Begins with contributions from veteran British writers Dick Clement and Ian La Frenais is the story of a young illegal immigrant, rising from poverty to become one of the World's greatest players. It was released by Disney and was shown in 38 countries worldwide.

Butchart was again one of the key writers on the second part of the trilogy, Goal! 2: Living the Dream..., which featured David Beckham.

His subject material moved from the world of soccer to the world of modeling with a television series in development for 2008 with model Christie Brinkley and producers Jonathan Prince and Howard Klein, which charts the course of a young middle American girl to the dizzy heights of the supermodel.

In 2007 he produced the horror/thriller From Within written by Brad Keene, directed by acclaimed cinematographer Phedon Papamichael and starring Elizabeth Rice, Thomas Dekker, Adam Goldberg, Laura Allen and Rumer Willis which will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival on 25 April 2008.
