Adolfas Tautavičius

Adolfas Tautavičius (1925 September 9, Judrėnai, Lithuania) is Lithuanian archaeologist and Habilitated Doctor.
In 1950 Adolfas Tautavičius graduated from the Vilnius University and after four years in 1954 defended his thesis, Rytų Lietuva I m.e. tūkstantmetyje (East Lithuania in I millennium of the year of grace). 1997 he became Habilitated Doctor with work Vidurinysis geležies amžius Lietuvoje (Middle the Iron Age in Lithuania). From 1962 till 1987 was the head of Archeology department of the Lithuanian Institute of History. Among other excavations Adolfas Tautavičius researched Vilnius Castle Complex, Klaipėda Castle, Trakai Castle sites. Adolfas Tautavičius wrote more than 600 academic publications and articles.
