[edit] Noteworthy?
Do u think that a man dating Miss Spears is not worthy to have a wikipedia entry?'
- It's not noteworthy enough to include Britney Spears in this article. As it states in Wikipedia is not for news reports. This article should focus on his life time achievements, and not who he's dating. Oidia (talk) 01:36, 26 January 2008 (UTC)
- That's a fairly hard topic to not cover. I did my best at rewriting the article, but the guy's life just isn't that notable in my opinion. I voted that the article be deleted but since a consensus could not be reached, the article should at least be in an encyclopedic tone and follow Wikipedia's MOS. I added categories, etc and tried to include all the information that is avaliable about his life that isn't related to Britney Spears. Pinkadelica (talk) 05:24, 27 January 2008 (UTC)
he is afghan and thats all —Preceding unsigned comment added by 202.133.13.26 (talk) 12:27, 10 March 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Pakistani or Afghan?
Hi. Thanks for the useful informaions. I had no idea that Birtney's lover is an Afghan. Please add more details about him and his family.
By the way, if Adnan is an Afghan-British, why this appears, when we search for Adnan Ghalib + Wiki:
Adnan Ghalib is a British-Pakistani celebrity photographer, born in Afghanistan. [1] Adnan moved with his family to the U.K in 1977 as a five-year-old ...??
Many Thanks

[edit] Place of birth
Before any changes of this guy's birthplace are made, I suggest that whomever makes the changes provides a reference that explicitly states where he was born. The reference from the New Post India (which was provided along with the unexplained content change) only states Ghalib is "a man of Pakistani origin". All the other content is conjecture unless a reliable source is provided. Also, an article only really needs one stub template, adding two is overkill. Pinkadelica (talk) 21:37, 11 February 2008 (UTC)
- Sorry, I disagree....it's a well known fact that he belongs to the Pakistani diapora settled in Britain.
-
- Again, the reference you provided does not state he was born in Pakistan, in fact, it says very little about Ghalib at all. As far as it being a "well known fact", no, it's not. If it were, there would be reliable third party references stating this and so far, you have not provided one. I asked that the page not be reverted until a consensus be reach along with not re-adding a second, unneeded stub tag. The page will be reverted again back to its original content until another reference can be provided. Reverting disputed content without first discussing it is pointless. If the reverts continue, the page will be protected. Additionally, please sign your posts. Pinkadelica (talk) 02:48, 13 February 2008 (UTC)

- Be that as it may, something being "a well known fact" doesn't establish verifiability. It appears, from making Google searches, that there is contention regarding this man's background. The two sources which the anonymous editor has put in are duplicates so aren't really separate sources since they originate from the same author/publisher. They do not say that Ghalib was born in Pakistan, only that he has a Pakistani background. That is vague and certainly inconclusive. I could produce references that say he is British born. I'd suggest that the question of where he was born be left out of the article, perhaps with a note that he "grew up in Britain, although the question of his precise background is a matter of question." In any case, it is certainly inappropriate for an editor to change this information without even an edit summary to explain his/her reasoning. Perhaps a request for semi-protection might be in order? [edit] Notability
In checking notability criteria, it has become apparent that this individual, by himself, is a non-notable person for inclusion in Wikipedia. In accordance with Wikipedia:Notability (people)#Invalid criteria, it states That person A has a relationship with well-known person B is not a reason for a standalone article on A. That is relevant to Adnan Ghalib specifically, as the example given in the guideline is actually the first husband of Britney Spears. Relationships do not confer notability. I believe this article should be deleted and anything regarding Ghalib at this juncture in his life should be a notation in the Britney Spears article and not be accorded a separate article. - I couldn't agree more. Pinkadelica (talk) 02:32, 14 February 2008 (UTC)
