An excellent article; though it's only a translation, it seems to reflect some serious primary source research on the part of the original (Dutch language) author. The English language text seems quite good overall, though there are a few too many untranslated Dutch terms I think - I admit I'm likely guilty of using a few too many Japanese words in my own contributions without translating them, but still, I don't know Dutch, so it'd be helpful for our readers if words were explained out a bit better. Beyond that, it's pretty good. Some random double spaces here and there (I personally don't care for the double space between sentences, but more to the point, double spaces within a sentence are completely no good), some issues with British/Commonwealth vs US spelling, and with capitalisation of titles (Captain So-and-So should have a capital "C"), but all around quite good. It must have been a lot of work for someone not speaking Dutch to translate this! I'm truly impressed! I'll try and insert some of my knowledge, having the major advantage of being Dutch myself :o). Some errors in the original Dutch article will be remedied at the same time. As the article was originally in British English, I see no reason to apply the Webster spelling, certainly given the historical context.--MWAK (talk) 08:06, 7 January 2008 (UTC)
