[edit] License tagging for Image:Adkranz.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Adkranz.png. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Thanks for uploading Image:PUPLogo.PNG. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

[edit] Image:PUPLogo.PNG
Hello Adkranz, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:PUPLogo.PNG) was found at the following location: User:Adkranz. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not readd the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 05:52, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Commercial use of Image:PUPCETManualFront.jpg
Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Image:PUPCETManualFront.jpg, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Image:PUPCETManualFront.jpg is an image licensed as "for non-commercial use only" or "used with permission for use on Wikipedia only" which was either uploaded on or after 2005-05-19 or is not used in any articles (CSD I3).
If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
This bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Image:PUPCETManualFront.jpg itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. If you have any questions about what to do next or why your image was nominated for speedy deletion please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thanks. --Android Mouse Bot 2 18:21, 17 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Image copyright problem with Image:BSPComplex.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:BSPComplex.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the image. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Strangerer (Talk) 15:44, 23 May 2007 (UTC)
[edit] PUP Article
Hi, Adkranz. I'm making a few edits to the PUP article you've been working a lot on. Among them are:
- The PUP name in the university infobox: I noticed that there are translations of the name in Spanish and Arabic. While the Constitution of the Philippines DOES say what you've included in the note, a public institution is established under a particular name. I don't think PUP goes around by a name in Spanish, since it has no Spanish roots, nor Arabic, because it doesn't have Arab roots either. The University of the Philippines article only includes two names: a name in English, and one in Filipino as its "native name."
- Editing for neutrality/flagging unreferenced assertions: A number of parts in the article expound a lot about the University's thrust, but they're written in a manner that seems rather opinionated, or that is more apt for a prospectus or promotional brochure than an encyclopedia article. What I'll do for now is edit out some of the less-than-neutral statements, and tag the other ones that I think ought to stand with [citation needed] tags, so you can find the necessary sources.
I can see that you've worked a lot on the article, and that's nice. It just needs to be tweaked a bit. Rmcsamson 13:52, 2 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:PUPLogo.PNG
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:PUPLogo.PNG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:23, 6 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Adkranz.png
Thanks for uploading Image:Adkranz.png. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 19:59, 15 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Evil Spartan 19:59, 15 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Possibly unfree Image:PhilSchoolCommerce2.jpg
[edit] Image:PhilSchoolCommerce.jpg and Image:PhilSchoolCommerce2.jpg
Hi. You recently resourced these as belonging to Polytechnic University of the Philippines. That would mean that you are not the creator of this work, and {{GFDL-self-with-disclaimers}} would not apply. Could you possibly give a web address for these pictures? If you can, we can verify if they were taken before 1923, in which case they would qualify as old enough to automatically be in the public domain. However, if they are not that old, then the license is incorrect, and they are probably copyrighted (unless you are the responsible faculty for this institute, and have the authority to release these images' copyrights). If they are copyrighted, then we will have to have them deleted, as copyrighted images of buildings are not allowed (see WP:FU#1) unless the building no longer exists. Thanks for your help.
