Elie Bijou is a resident of the Adirondack Mountains of New York State. He currently serves on the Executive Board of the Catskill 3500 Club as Trails Chair. His responsibility (2005-)is to oversee trail maintenance on Peekamoose and Table Mountains, two of the Catskill High Peaks. In addition, he oversees a litter pick-up on a two mile stretch of State Route 214 between the trailhead of Hunter Mountain. He is the Interim Outing chair for the 3500 Club (2006 -), pending Board approval.
Mr. Bijou is a member of the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference and oversees the Catskill Leanto's and a portion of the Blackhead Range. In addition, he supervises the trail from Colgate Lake to Dutcher Notch in the Catskill Mountains. He is also involved with the Long Path and has adopted several Wild Forests in New York State.
He holds a Bachelor's degree From Nyack College and is looking to enter and MFA program in Creative Writing.
