[edit] Location

I am having a hard time believing the mapping data and Google locations shown for this canal. The iron works seems to be some 20m or above the location given for the colliery where the goods were transhipped. Yet there is no mention or sign of cuttings being made, or locks.

Also the text reads 'to the Tom Lane colliery at Staveley'. Should this be Staveley Road? Derek Andrews (talk) 16:33, 26 March 2008 (UTC)

My mistake. The canal ended near where Tom Lane and Staveley Road meet. The 1980 OS map shows the Pools Brook, which the canal followed, and it runs close to, and parallel with the 76m contour, which also passes through the location of the Colliery. I have amended the text. Bob1960evens (talk) 16:58, 11 May 2008 (UTC)
