[edit] Category removed
I have removed material from this article that does not comply with our policy on the biographies of living persons. Material in a biography must always be referenced from reliable sources, particularly negative material. Negative material that does not comply with that must be immediately removed. Note that the removal does not imply that the information is either true or false.
Please do not reinsert this material unless you can provide reliable citations, and can ensure it is written in a neutral tone. Please review the relevant policies before editing in this regard. Editors should note that failure to follow this policy may result in the removal of editing privileges.
Religious categories should only be added if the following criteria are met:
- The subject publicly self-identifies with the belief or orientation in question;
- The subject's beliefs or sexual orientation are relevant to the subject's notable activities or public life, according to reliable published sources.
Until there is consensus this is the case, do not add the category. One Night In Hackney303 23:21, 31 March 2008 (UTC)
- Although I have not re-added it, I believe there is a valid case for the Muslim category to be added in this case, as it is a) referenced - to an interview with the player in question - on a reputable (morrocan sports) news website. The reference in the interview with how he copes with Ramadan (fasting and keeping strength to play football) qualifies it as being applicable to his notoriety.--ClubOranje (talk) 07:12, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

- Well you did re-add it. Please respect the biographies of living people policy. What reliable published sources have said his belief is relevant to his notable activities or public life? An interview clearly doesn't meet that. One Night In Hackney303 22:15, 5 April 2008 (UTC)

- Yes, I did eventually, nearly a week and several edits after I wrote the above, but you probably knew that. Normally I couldn't care less about categories, however, others obviously do, and it was reinstated as the previous edit was a revert claiming to be reverting vandalism where it clearly wasn't - it was an edit in good faith(no pun intended!). The category has been added by multiple people over a period of time, yet frequently reverted by you. I believe any consensus leans towards it being a legitimate addition, which therefore complies with WP:BLP regardless of your implied threat above. The reliable source is the one quoted - the official Moroccan Football Team Website, which got the information directly from the subject himself, which is more reliable than half the crap that comes from British tabloids. As the stated criteria are met (shown above), the category will no doubt be added again in due course.--ClubOranje(Talk) 10:33, 6 April 2008 (UTC)

I don't think that category is that relevant to this article or the player. I personally feel that you shouldn't have that type of category at all, arguing on the fact to help prevent vandalism due to racial discrimination. Govvy (talk) 13:36, 6 April 2008 (UTC)
[edit] CfD Category:French Muslims
Because of the category problem, I have decided to have a go at removing that category. Govvy (talk) 11:28, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
- By all means remove the category as is your right, but please don't do it under the guise of no source provided, as a source is - and a valid one at that--ClubOranjeTalk 13:01, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
That's not my reason for the category removal because of source, it's because I feel it breaches a persons privacy rights, and you shouldn't have categories of people in faiths. Govvy (talk) 13:16, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

- I apologise. When you tagged your edit with "Reverted 1 edit by 86.128.42.228; Please don't add that category, no source provided.." I mistook that to mean you had reverted because you believed no source was provided.--ClubOranjeTalk 05:12, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
And there isn't anything in the article that says he is Muslim and proud to be one, but the category itself, I don't think they should be used those types of categories!! Govvy (talk) 15:14, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
