[edit] Fair use in Konrad Adenauer
Though this image is probably a subject to copyright, its use is covered by the fair use laws because:
- It's a low resolution copy of an old German election poster.
- It is not clear if the poster is still copyrighted.
- It doesn't limit the copyright owner's rights to sell the poster in any way, in fact, it may encourage sales.
- Because of the low resolution, copies could not be used to make illegal copies of the artwork/image.
[edit] Fair use in List of Chancellors of Germany
Though this image is probably a subject to copyright, its use is covered by the fair use laws because:

This image is of a poster, and the copyright for it is most likely owned by either the publisher or the creator of the work depicted. It is believed that the use of scaled-down, low-resolution images of posters
qualifies as fair use under United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image, on Wikipedia or elsewhere, may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Non-free content for more information. |
