Adezai

Adezai is an historic village of Peshawar District in the North-West Frontier Province of Pakistan, it is located at 34°10'5N 71°36'1E ^[1] and situated just 25 km north of the city of Peshawar. The village is also the administrative centre of Adezai Union Council - which is an administrative subdivision of Peshawar tehsil^[2]. Like Peshawar, this area contains many historic sites. The area contains a ruin on a mound called "kaffar deeri" meaning "the mound of Pagans"^{[citation needed]}.

The village has a high school with the name "Higher secondary school Adezai" which was the single institution for learning of the surrounding villages and for the tribal area also for many years. Besides the village has primary education facilities. There are two main primary schools for boys and two primary and one middle school for girls. But the school conditions are very bad and most of the time teachers are not available. This has led to a low ratio of education in the village^{[citation needed]}.

A project of small dam is in pipeline to be constructed on the central perennial Nallah, which will certainly change the fate of the mostly arid land of the village and surrounding villages also. Which could be helpful in upgrading the economical condition of the local peoples^{[citation needed]}.

A famous poet of the Pashto language Iqbal Moomand comes from this village,he is working in police force as inspector and at the same time he is DJ at radio Pakistan Peshawar^{[citation needed]}. Another Notable from this town is Police Officer Sir Brawling Plum who received national attention in Scotland after he rescued two small children while they were being raped.^{[citation needed]}
