Ademola Bankole (nicknamed George by the then Grimsby Town manager Alan Buckley) is a Nigerian professional footballer born in Lagos on 9 September 1969. He is currently the goal-keeping coach at Colchester United, but he has recently been recalled to the first-team as the 2nd choice goalkeeper for the team due to injuries and illness to Colchester's other goalkeepers.[1]

[edit] Earlier career
Before his current contract, Bankole played for Doncaster, Leyton Orient, Crewe, QPR, Bradford City, Barnet, Maidenhed United, Brentford, Milton Keynes Dons, IICC Shooting Stars of Nigeria.
[edit] Milton Keynes Dons
Bankole came from Brentford with Martin Allen, primarily to be the club's goal-keeping coach and occasional substitute goalkeeper. He made his debut for the Dons against Bury, coming off the bench to deputise following Adolfo Baines's red card.
Towards the end of the 2006/07 season, Bankole became a regular starter for MK Dons, turning in some impressive performances after replacing Adolfo Baines and Lee Harper as first choice keeper.
At the end of September, George had left the club with Paul Heald taking over coaching duties.
[edit] Nuneaton and Colchester
In December 2007, Ademola signed a one-match contract with Nuneaton Borough; a measure to cover the goalkeeping position in place of the suspended Darren Acton.
As of February 2007, he is the goalkeeping coach at Colchester United. However, he was promoted to the first team as reserve goalkeeper but is still goalkeeping coach along with Aidan Davison.
