Ad Herbal

Adherbal or Ad Herbal (Gr. Ατάρβας) was name of two different Carthaginian commanders:
- Ad Herbal (1) (died 230 BC) was the admiral of the Carthaginian fleet who battled for domination of the Mediterranean Sea for Carthage in the First Punic War against Rome, 264 BC-241 BC. He was placed over Drepana, and completely defeated the Roman consul Publius Claudius Pulcher in the Battle of Drepana, 249 BC.[1][2]
- Ad Herbal (2) was a Carthaginian commander under Mago in the Second Punic War, who was defeated in a naval battle off Carteia, in Spain, by Gaius Laelius in 206 BC.[3][4]
