Adélia Prado

Adélia Luzia Prado Freitas (born December 13, 1935), is a leading Catholic writer and poet in Brazil.

She was born in Divinópolis, Minas Gerais, and started writing at the age of 40 which is relatively late in life for a poet. Although much of her outlook is religious her works are often about the body.

Ms. Prado's poems were translated into English by Ellen Watson and published in a book entitled, The Alphabet in the Park. (Wesleyan University Press, 1990).
