Adán Jonathan Vergara Villagra (born 9 May 1981 in Iquique) is a Chilean footballer who currently plays for FC Zürich in the Swiss Super League. He is a young, experience and strong central defender.

Vergara started his career with "Universidad de Chile" in 1988. And in the year of 1993 he goes away to Cobreloa where he has its first debut like professional in the first division in the year of 1998.He played in Cobreloa, first division, for six years, winning three Chilean Championships. He participated in five " Copa Libertadores de América" is a Football cup competition played annually by the top clubs of South America.

Vergara made his debut Chile National Team in 1999, for the training for 2001 FIFA World Youth Championship where it was until 2004 in the U23, playing in many countries of the world like Japan, Ireland, Scotland, Ukraine and among others. He first played outside Chile for Atlante. He playing in Brasil in the big championship of the world, "Campeonato Brasileiro de Futebol" in 2005 by Vasco da Gama with a team that also counted on the star of Romario Vasco da Gama until end of season on 3 August 2005.[1]. He went back to Chile and played for Unión Española in 2006, with excellent actuation since he is a player with great abilities. On 14 March 2008, he signed a contract until the end of season for FC Zürich in a free transfer, beginning a career in the European soccer, that can be very successful, like its profits in its continent of origin.
