Action Replay Duo
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Action Replay Duo (also known as Action Replay Max), now as Action Replay GBA is a cheat device for the Game Boy Advance released by Datel in 2005. It uses the changing of values in the games to get the user things such as unlimited lives, ammo, or items. It also lets the user backup Nintendo DS gamesaves, so in the case of anything in the game going wrong, they could restore the save.
This has been used mostly with the Nintendo DS game, Animal Crossing: Wild World, which, when backed up to a PC, allows you to edit the game using a program called AnimalMap Editor.
The product was originally called Action Replay Max for GBA/DS. But the DS functionality was limited to saving games, and not using Cheat Codes on DS Games. The manufacturer was naming the product GBA/DS to indicate that it did work in the (at that time) new DS handheld game systems by Nintendo. When they came out with the Action Replay DS, they rebranded the product as the Action Replay GBA/SP.
Early versions of the Action Replay Duo did not properly detect some newer games, this was fixed by soldering the 4th and 5th pins, assuming the GBA slot is facing hole down. Newer versions were soldered at the factory.
The Action Replay Duo still does not detect Pokémon Diamond and Pearl saves
This product should not be confused with the Action Replay DS, a cheat code device for DS games.
