The Acta Sanctae Sedis (literally "Acts of the Holy See" in Latin) was a periodical that served as the official gazette of the Holy See of the Roman Catholic Church, and was published on a monthly basis. It contained the principal public documents issued by the Pope, directly or through the departments of the Roman Curia. and also lists of Roman appointments. It was begun in 1865, under the title of Acta Sanctae Sedis in compendium redacta etc., and was declared on May 23, 1904, an organ of the Holy See to the extent that all documents printed in it are "authentic and official". Its successor is Acta Apostolicae Sedis.
