From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Acrid Point (56°17′S, 27°36′W) is a low-lying headland between Stench Point and Pacific Point on the northwest side of Zavodovski Island, South Sandwich Islands. The name, applied by United Kingdom Antarctic Place-Names Committee (UK-APC) in 1971, refers to the acrid volcanic fumes emitted on the west side of the island.
