Acoutsina

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Acoutsina, (c. 1697 – ), daughter of chief Ouibignaro, was an Inuk from Labrador, in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, who taught François Martel de Brouague the language of her people. The word Acoutsina is believed to be a French derivation of an Inuit term, akutsiarq, meaning the beautiful apron.
