Acomb Stakes

The Acomb Stakes is a Group 3 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for two-year-old thoroughbreds. It is run over a distance of 7 furlongs (1,408 metres) at York Racecourse during the Ebor Festival meeting in August.
It became a Listed race in 1998 and was upgraded to Group 3 status in 2006. The winner in 1999, King's Best, won the following season's 2,000 Guineas, and other notable horses to have run in the Acomb Stakes include Grand Lodge (third in 1993), Pentire (third in 1994) and Araafa (second in 2005).
