Market research firm Infonetics Research forecasts the session border controller market to reach $552 million in 2010.

Acme Packet’s session border control product family consists of the Net-Net OS, 4000, 4000 PAC, 9000 and EMS. The brand name "Net-Net" reflects the role of these products in interconnecting IP networks for voice, video and multimedia services. Their session border controllers support next-gen, converged fixed-mobile architectures including 3GPP IMS, ETSI TISPAN, ATIS, the Multi-Service Forum, PacketCable and the DSL Forum. These support multiple applications in service provider, contact center and large enterprise networks - from VoIP trunking to hosted enterprise and residential services to fixed-mobile convergence.
