[edit] Publications

SIGACT publishes a quarterly print newsletter, SIGACT News. Its online version, SIGACT News Online, is available since 1996 for SIGACT members, with unrestricted access to some features.

[edit] Conferences

SIGACT sponsors a number of annual conferences.

  • COLT: Annual Workshop on Computational Learning Theory
  • IOPADS: I/O in Parallel and Distributed Systems
  • PODC: Annual ACM Symposium on Principles of Distributed Computing
  • PODS: Principles of Database Systems
  • POPL: ACM Symposium on Principles of Programming Languages
  • SoCG: Annual ACM Symposium on Computational Geometry (jointly sponsored by SIGGRAPH)
  • SODA: ACM/SIAM Symposium on Discrete Algorithms (jointly sponsored by the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics)
  • SPAA: ACM Annual Symposium on Parallel Algorithms and Architectures
  • STOC: Annual ACM Symposium on the Theory of Computing

COLT, PODC, PODS, POPL, SODA, and STOC were all listed in the top tier of academic computer science conferences (ranking "A+") by a 2005–2007 ranking exercise conducted by the Australian Computing Research and Education Association. The same exercise ranked SPAA and SoCG at the second tier (ranking "A"). IOPADS was not ranked.[1]
