Talk:Acis

[edit] Bogus "Other sources"

"Other sources write that Acis turned himself into a river to escape being crushed." There are no other sources. I have also deleted a "reference" to Acis being a son of Dionysus, and to "Greek" as well as Roman mythology. Too much of this irresponsible tripe in Wikipedia's mythology articles, hiding under the rubric of unidentified "sources": help us to clean them up. --Wetman 21:17, 22 July 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New article: Acis and Galatea (mythology)

This inseparable pair make acceptable dictionary entries alphabetised under their individual names, but an encyclopedic article needs to combine them, like Mutt and Jeff. Acis should be a redirect to Acis and Galatea (mythology). Why? He has no independent existence. Since there are two females named Galatea, Galatea (mythology) should treat the narrative of Pygmalion and Galatea, with the briefest synopsis and linked reference to Acis and Galatea (mythology). --Wetman 05:23, 17 March 2007 (UTC)

I agree, and put a merge tag on these. - Ravenous 20:30, 10 June 2007 (UTC)
