Talk:AcidWarp

My experience with Acidwarp: Acidwarp was one of the early programs I downloaded in my BBS days using a 2400 baud modem and an NCR 8088 PC. On my 1st color monitor (15" Amdek), it displayed the most mesmerizingly beautiful and varied color patterns I'd ever seen at that time (hypnotics take notice!). It's still very impressive in it's ability to almost infinately cycle images. It takes some time to run through the whole set of 40 styles.
Acidwarp was my screen saver for over 10 years and no one in the work pod knew the simple key code to stop it and see what I was working on ("ctrl-break" with "break=on" in config.sys was required on my old DOS PC, but I notice "esc" works on WinMe). Try it! An absolutely little documented PC classic.
This fine little program surely inspired many spin-offs in 1000's of lines of coder thought. Game designers possibly used it to devastating effect ("Shadar: you have entered Toraq's magic vortex..."). Noah and Mark, you were way ahead with this one. Salute! Jopower (talk) 08:54, 17 April 2008 (UTC)
