The Acid Survivors Foundation is a Bangladeshi organization dedicated to raising awareness and preventing acid attacks.
It was founded in 1999 with support from UNICEF and the Canadian International Development Agency. ASF was one of the best outputs of international campaigns undertaken by the Commanding personality in the field of social reformation and human rights of modern Bangladesh, Nasreen Huq. In 2005 the co-founder Monira Rahman was granted the Human Rights Award of Amnesty International. It was able to reduce number of acid attacs about 40% since 2003.[citation needed]
ASF initially began as a service delivery organization. Currently, it is in the process of moving towards a rights-based development organization.
