Hi, I'm a Taiwanese/Chinese Canadian. I'm a recent grad of Simon Fraser University although I prefer to of think of myself as a TechBC grad. I was born in Taiwan (台灣), moved to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia and lived there for more than a decade in my youth, and then immigrated to Canada with my family. I have traveled back to Taiwan on occasion, but have never lived there long enough to feel like a local resident. I currently reside in Vancouver, BC and work in the Information Technology field, the subject of my previous studies at university.
My Mandarin Chinese is excellent, both speaking and reading, although writing is a bit weak. If you write to me in Chinese I would be able to understand you, but I probably would be able to only reply in English. Most likely I can't contribute to the Chinese Wikipedia without some effort on my part. I know a little Taiwanese (Min-nan) from my parents, but I'm trying to improve it.
I’m looking forward to meeting all Wikipedians from all over the world who want to discuss anything of interest to both you and me. However, I’m most interested in getting to know fellow first or second generation emigrants from Taiwan, (e.g. Chinese or Taiwanese Americans, etc.) and exchange experiences.
