I've been contributing to Wikipedia since early 2005. Mostly updating and correcting pages relating to the area around where I live in the North-East of England and North Yorkshire, plus those about my areas of interest.

I was born in Durham City, before moving to Cottingham near Hull for a few years. I then grew up in Dalton near Richmond in North Yorkshire, after which I spent three years studying History & Sociology at Essex University in Colchester, and now live in Leeds.

The username Achmelvic is one I've used around t'interweb for many years and originates from the name of a small village in the north of Scotland, Achmelvich, but without the h.
