Achmore

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Achmore (an anglicisation of the Scottish Gaelic Acha Mòr) is a village in the Scottish Outer Hebrides, on the island of Lewis. The village is the only one on Lewis which does not lie on the coast.

The remains of a fallen ancient stone circle lie close to the village.

There is also a village called Achmore in Ross-shire which is situated approx 7 miles from Plockton. Amongst the attractions of this village is the West Highland Dairy.
