FYI, I have replied to your query about Tweleve Monkeys on my Talk: page. (The short answer is "yes".) – B.Bryant 02:32, 29 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Fix You

Hi,

You removed the link to the radio station WAVF from the Fix You page, saying tha that it was a minor station. However, WAVF was the sixth largest (of 24) radio station in Charlestown, a city with a metropolitan area populated by over half a million people, as of summer 2005. Why is it a minor station?

Cheers,

Acegikmo1 22:56, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi,
You've pretty much answered your own question! Sixth largest in a city with a metropolitan area population of only half a million? I'm presuming that you are from Charlestown, but the fact that the vast majority of people outside the USA have never heard of the place (myself and my entire family included) do not enable it to compare favourably with world-renouned cities like Boston, Seattle, Atlanta and San Diego. But these are minor issues - the major one is that the radio cited did not have its own Wiki article. There is no real reason to cite any radio station in the paragraph - all of the stations mentioned are minor (in terms of audience) compared to BBC Radio 1 or Virgin Radio, but neither are mentioned. I could go on... but I'm sure you get the jist.
Cheers, DJR (Talk) 23:12, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for your reply - I understand where you are coming from about the US Modern Rock system. However, I really don't think it is necessary to include a station that does not have its own article on Wikipedia. I must say I do not really understand American radio very well (all your stations seem to only have four letters names for some reason!), but I am sure that there must be (an) alternative(s) who have a Wikipedia article to link to. While giving a broad picture of American airplay is important, in the grand scheme of things individual stations are not, and should really be kept to a minimum of relevancy and those with articles (the latter purely because it acts as a guage of the station's relevancy). I hope this makes sense... an alternative solution would be to simply list cities rather than stations.

[edit] Re: "Master and Servant"

Hi there,

I was going off the information provided on the official site's page on the single [1] for the #6 peak. The site's you provided, however, do seem to have much more extensive databases, and as such, would obviously be much more reliable, so I'll get around to fixing the various pages that mention the #6 position to #9. Thanks for clearing that up. John5008 | talk to me 01:32, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] A belated reply

Will I am inclined to give the programed reply that—in regards to health—that I am fine, the truth is that my health has been deciling for the better part of this and I am in fact withdrawing from a summer course in the hopes that my health will improve for the fall term. I appreciate that you voted in the Wikiproject election and I will count your vote. However, I find the commitement to the project of the participants other than Jmabel and yourself disappointing. They never reply when notified about changes to the project and I feel that I will either have to find more active participants, or turn its responsibilites over to another project, or alas close the page.

I see that you are no longer a teenager, that makes me feel old for some reason, inspite of being only a year your elder. I hope that you are progressing well in your studies, and that your diversions and hobbies are as well. Still have that Queen site per chance? I must say I am impressed with the areas of study that you have settled on, few intellects can balance Science and History, becoming quite the junzǐ I see.

Until we cross paths again, JCarriker [04:25, 30 May 2006 (UTC)]

[edit] Thanks a lot

You know NO ONE is going to improve that stupid reactions page. It's just going to sit there as it is. Why can't you just let it be merged into the Japanese war crimes page where it belongs? John Smith's 21:56, 23 August 2006 (UTC)

Well I would say there was a consensus before your comment. As I have said so many times, no one wanted to deal with this article for months. So you will have to. Once the thing is closed I'll rename the page. John Smith's 22:04, 23 August 2006 (UTC)
Hey, the page was re-directed to war crimes in the end, so there's no problem. John Smith's 21:36, 27 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Episode article naming

Hiya, we're currently discussing the issue of naming episode articles, over at Wikipedia_talk:Naming conventions (television). I saw that you'd been involved in a similar discussion about the Star Trek articles, so since the results of our discussion will quite probably directly impact the Star Trek articles, I wanted to make sure you were invited.  :) --Elonka 00:28, 15 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] WikiProject Guster

Notice I see that you've made edits in articles about Guster.
I'm trying to create a WikiProject to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to the band.
If you're interested, please express interest for WikiProject Guster on the proposal page. Thanks! - [hmwith]

[edit] nitrium

I was going to try to write more but other articles seem more interesting. Although I don't claim ownership of the article, I'm essentially the only one who has written about it. What is your opinion if I put it into a disambiguation page and that those pages are redirected to sodium and potash articles? VK35 20:57, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Regarding Polling Graphs

i agree that the trend lines do not show the information very well because of newly entered canidacy as occured with Fred Thompson, however i think it is important for voters to see the trends. I created the past 6 months graphs in order to remedy this and only focus on the more recent trends. I think that for the graphs of the entire polling graph, it makes sense to have a moving average, but for the past 6 months polling, it makes sense to have a trend line. Please post your thoughts back on my page Perpetualization (talk) 01:51, 22 November 2007 (UTC)

Contrary to what i said before, i no longer think moving averages are a good idea. I uploaded a moving average version of Iowa-all-polls, you should be able to see it through the image history. I believe it portrays the data very poorly because instead of showing overall trends, it is showing variation in polls, making it appear as if canidates jump and fall when in reality, these jumps are within the margin of error of the polls. Additionally, apart from Romney, the lines appear as a mess as they mix together and are very hard to see any useful data from. If you disagree, or would like to continue this discussion, post it on the talk page Talk:Opinion polling for the Republican Party (United States) presidential primaries, 2008 so that other editors can give their opinions. Thank you for your input, Perpetualization (talk) 19:13, 23 November 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Farscape

Thanks for all your work on the Crackers Don't Matter page!QuizzicalBee (talk) 17:55, 24 November 2007 (UTC)

Good job. As an editorial choice, you could consider transwikiing the quote section to wikiquote and then add {{Wikiquote|Farscape#Crackers_Don.27t_Matter|Crackers Don't Matter}} to the external links section in the wikipedia article (see Wikipedia:Quotations for more). That also makes the article look more professional. – sgeureka t•c 13:48, 25 November 2007 (UTC)

As you're a top contributor to the X-Files article, I'd like to inform you that the article is currently undergoing a peer review.
