Whenever a vandal (anonymous IP or logged-in) is blocked, all users using that particular IP address are also "autoblocked", even logged-in users. That's the way the Wikipedia software works. There's no way to turn off autoblocking and no way to give immunity from autoblocking to established users with good reputations, and no way of knowing in advance what ISP or region any particular user is editing from or how many other users would be affected by an autoblock. Autoblocking is a particular problem for AOL users, users at some universities, and users in some Middle Eastern countries that force multiple users to go through the same proxy IP addresses, putting vandals and good users on the same IP address.

There were a lot of vandalism edits from this IP address, culminating in "SQUIDWARD" vandalism, see Special:Contributions/212.138.47.14. I'll unblock, but there's no way to guarantee that the problem or blocking won't recur some time in the future. -- Curps 06:56, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

I see. I guess I'll have to get used to it then. Thanks for the heads up.AceWhatever 16:17, 5 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Input request

Hi AceWhatever, there is some discussion currently going on here, and I noticed you have {{User anime}} on your userpage. If you are not too busy, I would appreciate it if you could drop some of your ideas on how to reform the portal on the aforementioned talk page. Thanks! « ANIMUM » 22:10, 7 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Super Robot Wars and Studio Llama

I have noticed that the IP 66.41.150.59 has posted on several SRW-related pages that certain games are "currently being translated by Studio Llama", as per their projects page.

I believe that until at least one game is fully translated, this clause is unnecessary, not because I question the translation group's credibility, but because it is misleading. They are certainly NOT working on all games at once, and we know nothing of the progress on these projects.

Thus, I am taking the liberty of removing all instances of this clause from the pages. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Gundamba cover.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Gundamba cover.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 01:36, 26 January 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Orphaned non-free media (Image:Gundambm cover.jpg)

Thanks for uploading Image:Gundambm cover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 12:12, 20 April 2008 (UTC)
