David Bernardini (born February 11, 1983) is locally well-known in the Harrisburg, Pennsylvania area for his skill as a regular In The Groove player at the Coliseum in Camp Hill and Family Fun Center in Colonial Park Mall (at which locations he is actually better known by his nickname "Ace"). He is also quickly gaining popularity as a StepMania simfile author, with 31 original simfiles uploaded onto BemaniStyle to date. Though not yet as widely recognized as other more famous simfile authors, he is continuing to grow in popularity due to his skill at composing stepcharts.

[edit] Skill Level
On Foot in the Arcade
David has passed every official song found on an In The Groove 2 machine up to a difficulty level of 12 (he recently passed "Bloodrush" for the first time). Notably, he has also passed two of the game's 13s, "Summer ~Speedy Mix~" and "Pandemonium." Despite attempts to pass "VerTex2," he hasn't yet managed to clear it.
Though he knows many others older than him who play on Expert difficulty, at 25 years old, he believes he is the oldest person in the Harrisburg area to clear a 13. He is uncertain if he is correct in making that statement; however, no one has yet stepped up to say otherwise.
StepMania
David is skilled at playing paddable simfiles on StepMania, and is quickly gaining experience at playing keyboard files. He's passed a large number of 14's and a precious few 15's.
[edit] Chart-Writing Tendencies
He has a tendency to write charts for anime titles, and/or songs that are cute in nature (though he has been known to chart for a serious song here and there).
He favors new advancements in stepchart authoring, and as a result, his edits often contain features new to StepMania or the rhythm-game world such as handplants and rolls. His edits used to have far more of these than necessary; he has since learned to control his usage of these features.
He also favors charting in such a way that the arrows go along more with the lyrics than any background music in songs that feature lyrics (although many of his recent Expert-level charts have proven he can do quite well with following background melodies or even creating his own arrow patterns). This may be one of the reasons his stepcharts are so popular among those who see or play them.

David has submitted his anime-related simfiles to Otaku's Dream for consideration of inclusion into "Otaku's Dream 5th Anime Mix." Word is still out as yet on whether any of his titles will be included, but the deadline for submissions is June 15, so everyone will know soon.

David's simfiles are "paddable," meaning they were created for play with one's feet; thus, he encourages play of his simfiles as custom songs on an In The Groove 2 machine. Many of his simfiles (including all of the songs in his simfile pack, seen below) are already custom-song ready and don't require the player to convert music file formats or patch songs for length.

David recently released a pack of 27 of his simfiles on his FileFront page. Every song in his pack is ready for play as an ITG 2 custom song.
For easy reference, the difficulty names have been abbreviated and their columns colored as follows: N = Novice (purple), E = Easy (green), M = Medium (yellow), H = Hard (red), Ex = Expert (blue).
