Academy Sergeant Major
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Academy Sergeant Major is the senior non-commissioned officer instructor at a military academy.
At the British Army's Royal Military Academy Sandhurst, the AcSM[1] holds the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1 and his appointment is the third most senior WO appointment in the British Army (after the Conductors, Royal Logistic Corps and the Royal Artillery Sergeant Major, Royal Artillery). He is always a guardsman.
At the Australian Defence Force Academy, the ASM also holds the rank of Warrant Officer Class 1 or equivalent and is drawn on rotation from all three services.
