AC Zimi is a Zimbabwean writer born in a municipality of Antwerp. His first book, Awwyossi, meaning "Life" in Zulu, became in instant bestseller in Zimbabwe, and other African countries.

Not much is known about the early life of Zimi, although it is known that he grew up in Zimbabwe, before moving to Antwerp. He was born sometime in 1967, to Zimbabwean parents. At the age of 7 he moved to Antwerp, where he still resides today.
