I don't know if this is the proper place to report such an incident, but we're pretty much at wit's end. The IP address listed here has engaged in on-and-off-Wikipedia threats against myself and my wife, somehow obtaining our names and location. Since none of this information is readily available on Wikipedia, we're at a loss to explain how they got it - except the email address. The individual at the IP address listed claims to work on the behalf of Sam Harris, so I wrote to that website asking that they have this person cease and desist. Apparently, whoever manning that contact page is the person behind the IP address sent this email in response:

We've already informed our local authorities and we are in the process of figuring out what we have to do to protect ourselves. In the meanwhile, we still receive threats as evidenced on our talk page. Is there anything we can do to stop this individual from threatening us? My wife is making me buy a home security system as a result of this. Personally, I don't think much will come of this, but in this day and age, with a person willing to go to the lengths required to obtain our names and location, I'm inclined to do what I need to do to make sure my family is safe. NOTE: Note: That is concerning, the user has been blocked, however this is very serious. If you could please provide some diffs, we could work with that. However, the WHOIS says that the user is only using Comcast cable, therefore it is not from a business, school, etc. --HAL2008talk 18:45, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

I apologize, but I'm not quite sure what you mean. I'm assuming you're referring to the portions of the edit histories that show these threats being made, or our names being disclosed? Again, I apologize for my ignorance, but this is pretty much a first for me. Sidatio 18:59, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

This abuse report has been rejected. Rejected. Dynamic IP from regular ISP, harassment did not resume after expiration of block 10+ days ago. --Darkwind (talk) 11:42, 17 September 2007 (UTC)
