Abud Sarhan is an Iraqi shepherd, who is suing US Army General Franks and Secretary of Defense Rumsfeld after 17 family members were killed during the 2003 invasion of Iraq — two missiles hit his camp near Al-Altash (also killing 200 sheep) on April 4, 2003.
The first hearing was held on July 20, in Ramadi; however, no representatives for the Americans showed up. The hearing was reset for August 10, 2003.[1] On August 10, no representative for the Americans showed up; the hearing was reset for August 24, citing the need to allow defense lawyers to gather more evidence.
