About Gabriel my son and fellow co-contributor:
Primary Wikipedian Contributer of this account; written from father's standpoint in attempt to mimic a first-person account of his background
I don't have much time to contribute to this page, so I'll make it short and expand my list of accomplishments later. This account is shared with my sixteen year old son, Gabriel. He's a [Inorganic/Organic/Bio] Chemistry buff (as in, he teaches specialized class at Trinity Preparatory School and tutors local community college students). He loves doing lab work and is avidly looking for a dedicated mentor to supervise and guide him while performing transesterification (read:biodiesel) experiments in an up-to-par lab.
My knowledge of the medical field surpasses that of EMTs and Registered Nurses through intensive, self-motivated study due to my thirst for knowledge; as soon as I turn 18 I may be eligible to skip undergrad and get right into the breach known as medical school. Although I've done my fair share of textbook work in the field, my forte is in the nitty-gritty in-your-face practical aspect of emergency trauma care I've done unoffically as an assistant in third world countries such as Brazil, Colombia, and Argentina (the last of which isn't so "third world-ish" and is my favourite place in the world).
I've even worked unofficially (with the patient's consent) as a surgery assistant during the tummy-tuck, liposuction, face lift (with the patient's own adipose obtained from liposuction), definitive makeup application of a 40 year old woman, and was the one who inserted the heparin locks in addition to helping "zap" (cauterize) some especially unruly severed arteries that had been feeding the adipose from the tummy tuck.
He takes care of the Wikipedia's Chemistry articles, and I try my best to contribute to those in the medical field. My son also shares an extensive knowledge of medicine and we mutually benefit from our often lengthy discussions regarding the correlations between the two disciplines, often blurring the line of each "study" and realizing science is a conglomeration of our all encompassing existence as both humans and citizens of the world.
About Jairo, Gabriel's father and fellow co-contributor:
Contributes substantially less than Gabriel due to my medical practice, but tries to help from time to time.
I am a Medical Doctor, and currently am a Geriatric Psychiatrist. Prior to this I worked as an anesthesiologist. I majored both in Organic Chemistry and Pharmacology. I minored in Music Theory.
I am the proud owner of a fiance and my Mini-Pincher, one of the cutest dogs you'll never meet.
I discovered Wikipedia not too far away from it's founding date at a young age, but only recently became a member when I realized all the edits I made didn't need to bear my IP.
That's it folks.
Oh yeah, and I'm a man. That goes under the list of accomplishments too, right? ;-P
