Abrakebabra

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Abrakebabra is a chain of Irish fast food restaurants that stays open late to capitalise on the post-pub crowd.[citation needed] In 2002, they completely revised their menu with the addition of their now famous "Taco Fries", a mainstay on their menu. This helped to turn around the dwindling number of customers at the time and make them one of Ireland's better known domestic restaurant chains.[citation needed]

The restaurant in Waterford was also featured on an RTÉ show by comedian Des Bishop, who still makes frequent references to this trip in his stand-up routine[1].

Comedian Dylan Moran mentions Abrakebabra in his stand-up show Monster.

Since the brand was founded, it has always been, and continues to be to this day, advertised as "your international fast food restaurant".[citation needed] This was parodied in a television commercial between 2002 and 2003 which featured several impersonators of Britney Spears, Ali G, Anthony Hopkins, and others buying food in the restaurant.[citation needed]

The menu consists mainly of kebabs, baguette dishes and fried chicken has recently been added to lend an air of diversity.[citation needed]

[edit] Abrakebabra Gold Card

Abrakebabra give a 'Gold Card' to people who they feel should be awarded for their work a certain field. Abrakebabra to honour the actor Colin Farrell culinary preference, the fast food chain has given Farrell their first ever Kebab Gold card which entitles him to a free kebab in any of their restaurants.[citation needed]
