Description

Chart of the practice of induced abortion methods. Created by Kaldari in Photoshop, April 15, 2006.

Numerous sources were used in the creation of this chart (pro-choice, pro-life, and medical). Where sources conflicted, I have attempted to make the best judgement possible, generally favoring the medical literature or averaging the sources together. This chart does not reflect the frequency of any method's use, simply the period during which a certain method may be effectively used. For example, induced abortions in the third trimester are extremely rare by any method, and generally only practiced in extreme circumstances.
