Aboud Jumbe

Sheikh Mwinyi Aboud Jumbe (born 1920) was a politician in Zanzibar. He was second president of the island from 11 April 1972 until 30 January 1984. He was initially elected as part of the Afro-Shirazi Party (ASP) but, in 1977, the ASP and TANU merged to create Tanzania and the ruling party of Chama Cha Mapinduzi or (CCM).
