Is Abimelech to be considered a judge inasmuch as a whole chapter is devoted to him in the book of Judges, and that he bears none of the characteristics of those we know to be judges?

[edit] Abimelech Society??

Is the Abimelech Society, a small group apparently devoted to the destruction of Gideon Bibles, noteworthy or encyclopedic? - Smerdis of Tlön 18:38, 13 September 2006 (UTC)

I'd like to have this reinstated (possibly in a shortened form) since it is an interesting link to the name in modern culture. Surely it is noteworthy that there is active opposition to the project of the Gideons. Alternatively, the Society, could get its own page linked from here (as with the link for Gideons International from the Gideon disambig. page) but it would be only a very small stub.
