Abiola Bashorun

Eighteen year old Law student Abiola Bashorun was the surprise winner of Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria in 2006, beating off competition from favourite Tienepre Oki. Baroshun's project as MBGN was Sickle cell awareness - she was inspired after losing a friend to the disease - and she spent most of her reign organising workshops and seminars on the issue. As reigning MBGN, she also represented Nigeria at Miss World 2006.

A devout christian, Bashroun used a tenth of her one million naira winnings to pay her tithe in church. Her main aim is to become a human rights lawyer.
