Abid Nabi

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Abid Nabi (born December 26, 1985 in Srinagar, Kashmir) is an Indian first class cricketer who plays for the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He is a promising fast bowler and is identified as one of the fastest bowlers in India.

Abid has been around since 2006 and was considered for the national team. He has been training at the MRF pace academy but has recently chosen to join the Indian Cricket League (ICL). Players who have joined the ICL - a league that is not endorsed by the BCCI and is a rival of the BCCI's own Indian Premier League are not considered for selection by their respective state teams. Therefore Abid Nabi is not available to play for Jammu and Kashmir. The state already have a very weak squad; so they continue to achieve nothing of note.

Because of signing for ICL - Abid Nabi may not play for the Indian national team for many years to come.
