[edit] POV

Neither his anti-Semitism nor his Islamistic stances are mentioned, neither is his adulation of Adolf Hitler. However, the prophet is PBUHed...

"Islam and the Death of Democracy by Shaykh Abdalqadir as-sufi al-Murabit

--tickle me 17:08, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

First, the alleged anti-Semitism is dealt with at great length on the page about the Murabitun because it was first raised there. There are substantial quotations from the author's writings which do not seem to bear it out. As mentioned there the author belittles Hitler at some length and there is no evidence in any of his published writings of any adulation of him.

Second, the Daniel Pipes article contains too many factual inaccuracies to be reliable. It is clearly extremely polemical.

Third, as to the death of democracy, there is a great deal of difference between announcing the death of someone or something and calling for the death of someone or something. The author has pointed out in his political works at length throughout his authorship that democracy has died and that we have moved into a totalitarian epoch, ruled not by tyrants but by finance. Does anyone know what a "idhin" is? Google didn't give any useful links. Jth299 01:43, 11 August 2005 (UTC)

- idhin is authorisation. The line or 'isnad' of the tariqa (lit. pathway) is the living transmission of Quranic knowledge from Muhammad s.a.w.s. to the present via the line of teaching masters or shaykhs. The student recieves idhin to instruct from an existing shaykh - and his authority comes from Allah. s.w.t.

Idhn for teaching Sufism however finally comes from Allah and His Messenger, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.

Personally, it is quite clear that these two pages should be merged. I have no idea how that is done though.

[edit] CSD notice / hangon

The CSD notice on this page is incorrect, as it should be the page the content was copied from that should contain the article. That redirect should be deleted instead of this page. Errabee 02:19, 7 April 2007 (UTC)

CSD is just because pages need to be deleted before they can be merged together. The history of this and the former redirect needed to be merged together. I've done that now. Cool Hand Luke 21:56, 7 April 2007 (UTC)
Why do I even bother if people can't be bothered to read and admins don't know their guidelines? This article is now located at the WRONG PAGE NAME! Shaykh is a TITLE, and according to the NAMING CONVENTIONS (WP:NCP), page names should be GIVEN NAME SIRNAME only. Errabee 22:51, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
In either case, the article nor the history is not deleted in a page merge. You gave no rationale in the above notice, but instead only a betrayed concern because something was being deleted. It's not, so calm down. Cool Hand Luke 03:37, 10 April 2007 (UTC)
What a BS! I gave a rationale, and I didn't care if this article was deleted or not, I cared that the article should be recreated with the proper page name. And by not reading my message, you did exactly that what I was afraid of: recreating the page with a wrong name. Maybe you should learn to take concerns from other people more seriously. The article sounds excessively laudatory and promotional. Not at all appropriate for an encyclopedia. It is probably written by one of his followers Giordaano 12:36, 1 June 2007 (UTC)
