Abdullahi Ahmed Addou (Somali: Cabdilaahi Axmed Caddoow ) is a senior Somali politician and diplomat. He was born on 15 May 1936, in the city of Brava in the Lower Shabelle region of Somalia. He served as Somalia's ambassador to the United States (1970-80, 1986-88) and finance minister (1980-84). He was twice presidential candidate of Somalia, first in 2000 during the Somali peace process held in Arta, Djibouti, and in 2004.
