The former Sunni chief of the Mujahideen Shura Council in Fallujah, Iraq, Abdullah al-Janabi (b. ~1951[1]) gained power following his aid in the insurgency's victory at the First Battle of Fallujah.
He was present at the eventual loss at the Second Battle of Fallujah, but evaded American forces.
al-Janabi later gave an interview with the Al Jazeera television network.[2]
On January 9 2005, the Central Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for him.[3]
