Abdallah Abdalrahman AlRuwaished (born July 1961) is a Kuwaiti singer.

[edit] Early life

Born in the Hawalli area, Abdallah AlRuwaished was raised in a family well known for its passion for art. He was the fifth child of six siblings. As a child, he was a fan of AlQadsiah Club. He dropped out of high school during his second year. Abdallah married at the early age of 18 to his cousin. This marriage was unsuccessful and ended in divorce. Abdallah then married his current wife, Shatha AlEssa, and they have seven children, five girls and two boys, Shurooq, Aseel, Khalid, Dalal, Mudhawai, Danah and Bader.

After quitting studies, Abdallah joined Kuwait’s Municipality for a short period until he started his own firm, Abdallah Alruwaished Artistic Production Center. In 1976, he started a singing band, called Rubaie AlKuwait, with four other friends. Abdallah met the late Rashed Alkhudhur in 1979 and recorded his first solo song, Rahaltay, in 1980.

  • Starred in a musical play, Allailah AlMohammadiah for the Prophet’s Birthday, which took place in Cairo, Egypt in 1990.
  • Sang in Dar Al Opra Opera house in Egypt in 1992.
  • Reestablished his position in the singing billboard as one of the best singers in 1996 with his song Lemny Bshoq.
  • Coordinated the first, second, fifth and sixth Hala February Festivals.
  • Abdallah had 34 albums to his credit before reaching the age of 45.
