Ab'gar XIV

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ab'gar XIV was a king of Edessa, one of a dynasty of the same name. He was a contemporary of Jesus Christ, with whom (according to the Nuttall Encyclopedia) he is said to have corresponded.

No historical ruler of Osroene by this name existed, the last being Abgar (XI) Farhat Bar Ma’nu (IX) (242–244). The legend of King Abgar commonly is attributed to Abgar V of Edessa.
