A Whale of a Tale is an unreleased album recorded in 1971 by Sour Mash, a band made up of ex-Herman's Hermits-members after Peter Noone left them. It is southern rock flavoured and has many unusual sounds, including the country sound of new singer/Guitarist Peter Cowap. Derek Leckenby's skills on guitar and Dobro are also most apparent on this album.
