[edit] Plot
A lieutenant involved in a classified special operation falls to his death during a rappelling training exercise. While initially thought of as an accident caused by a D-link malfunction, suspicions arise when Abby discovers that the D-link was made of a weaker material compared to the manufacturer specifications. The team believes that the lieutenant's equipment was tampered with. The CIA inform the team that they have 38 hours to discover the cause of the death, otherwise the classified mission the lieutenant was on will be scrubbed.
Suspicion falls on a team member who the lieutenant was very hard upon, as well as the wife as they were having marital problems. It is finally discovered that the lieutenant had been having an affair with another man. His wife had confronted him and in order to avoid embarrassment, he had killed himself, making it seem like an accident. He came from a long line of distinguished naval officers and was deeply religious. Gibbs informs the CIA that the mission is good to proceed.
