The Jar: A Tale From the East is Syrian feature-length animated Islamic movie that was made in 2001. The movie itself is based on a true story that was narrated over 1400 years ago during the early Islamic Civilisation. "The Jar" deals is an epic that deals with a struggle between good and evil.

The story is set in an Eastern village, which beings with the discovery of The Jar by a poor yet a virtuous family. The Jar contains some lost treasure buried under their new home. While trying to return The Jar to it's rightful owner, they are face set-backs by a jealous and greedy neighbour who has his eye on The Jar. This results in a a fascinating adventure that ensues as the town-folk try to solve the mystery of The Jar.
