A Tempestade (or O Livro dos Dias) is the eighth album by Brazilian rock band Legião Urbana, recorded during the first semester of 1996 and released on the Emi-Odeon label on September 20, 1996, few days before Renato Russo's death. By this time, Russo was living a mostly reclusive life because of his disease, avoided doing interviews and having his pictures taken. Probably reflecting this condition, the album features some of the saddest songs the band ever recorded, among them the hit "A Via Láctea". The album was intended to be a double one, but it was eventually trimmed down to one disc, mainly due to economic reasons. Some of the remaining material was eventually released on the posthumous album Uma Outra Estação, on the following year.
The band counts with the keyboard work of musician and producer Carlos Trilha, who worked in Russo's previous two solo albums, The Stonewall Celebration Concert and Equilibrio Distante. "Soul Parsifal" was co-written by singer Marisa Monte. "1° de Julho" was written by Russo for singer Cássia Eller, and here is performed by him on the acoustic guitar, aided by a drum machine. Hits include "Longe Do Meu Lado" and "Dezesseis".
